Importing data

Bring external data — lab results, monitoring readings, samples, and site structure — into Erde through the import pipeline. You upload one or more files, Erde validates every row, you review and correct what it flags, and only then do you commit. Nothing reaches your Site or Project data until that commit succeeds, and a committed import can be rolled back.

You reach imports from the left nav: Imports opens the imports list at /imports. Select Add to start a new import, pick a data type, configure it, upload your files, and follow the import through to commit.

In this section

  • The import pipeline — how an import flows from Draft through validation, review, and an asynchronous commit; the full set of statuses and what each one means.
  • Import data — the step-by-step task: choose a type, configure the import, upload files, validate, review and correct rows, then commit.
  • Import formats — the data types you can import (from Locations and Wells to Lab Results, Water Levels, and Logger Streams), their seeded default formats, and how to download a template.
  • Import field reference — the column contract for every format: sheet names, columns, which are required, and defaults, for Samples, monitoring, locations, and field artifacts.
  • Lab Report (EDD) format — the full sheet-and-column contract for the laboratory EDD: every sheet, field, requirement, and how the sheets link together.
  • Troubleshoot and roll back imports — read validation feedback, recover a failed commit, and roll back, reset, or delete an import.
