Create data management plans and screening criteria
The analysis tools read two kinds of configuration you set up ahead of time: a Data Management Plan (DMP), which decides how Erde aggregates and reports results, and a Screening Criteria Set, which holds the limits results are compared against. This guide creates both. For what the rules mean, see Data management plans and Screening.
- Role required: Data Steward access — the Administrator or Data Manager role. Anyone signed in can read these; only a Data Steward can create or edit them.
Create a Data Management Plan
-
Go to Data Management → Configuration → Data Management Plans.
-
Select Add, enter a Code and Name, and save. The plan appears in the list.
-
Open the plan from the list, then configure it on its tabs:
Tab What you set Details Identity and the non-detect, EMPC, and duplicate-handling rules Reporting Unit Preferences The target reporting unit per analysis Method Summation Rules Derived analytes computed from component analytes (for example Total PCBs)
A new plan starts in Draft. See Activate, supersede, and set a default DMP for promoting it and making it the default for new projects.
The order qualifiers win when results are combined is set in reference data, not on the DMP: those propagation ranks live on each Qualifier and apply application-wide.
Create a Screening Program and its criteria
A Screening Program holds one or more Criteria Sets, and each Criteria Set holds the screening levels.
- Go to Data Management → Configuration → Screening Programs.
- Select Add, enter the program's Code and Name, and save.
- Open the program and select the Criteria Sets tab. Add a Criteria Set.
- Open the Criteria Set and select the Screening Levels tab. Add levels one at a time, or load many at once — see Import screening levels.
To remove several levels at once, tick the checkbox on each row (or the header checkbox to select the whole page) and select Delete selected (N) above the grid. Bulk deletion is permanent, requires the Data Steward role, and records each removed level individually in the Audit Log.
Result
The DMP and Screening Criteria Set are available to the analysis tools. A project picks up a DMP automatically (the default, or one assigned to it), and you choose Criteria Sets in each tool's filter panel.
